Bucolia, is a collection of bucolic-themed poems that explores the beauty, melancholy, and lonelieness of rural life. Inspirations for the collection are varied, namely experiences from David’s youth, growing up in rural Texas, as well as grappling with life and loss in adulthood.

The Shadowman Chronicles is a collection of (mostly) ekphrastic poems based on the life and art of legendary NYC street artist Richard Hambleton. The poems explore the uniqueness of Hambleton’s art and his creative genius, as well as the pitfalls of addiction and the comercialization of art. Winner of the Award for Best Poetry at the 92nd Conference of College Teachers of English.i
