David Estringel is a Xicanx writer/poet with works published in literary publications and independent presses, such as The Opiate, Azahares, Cephalorpress, Sledgehammer Lit, Ethel, Literary Heist, Cowboy Jamboree, San Antonio Review, Punk Noir Magazine, Poetry NI, Dreich, Somos en escrito, Fahmidan Journal, The Milk House, Beir Bua Journal, Terror House Magazine, Expat Press, Horror Sleaze Trash, Rigorous, North Meridian Review, Harpy Hybrid Review, The Honest Ulsterman, Red Fez, Drunk Monkeys, The Blue Nib, Spit Poet Zine, The B’K Magazine, Anxiety Press, Dumpster Fire Press, Alien Buddha Press, Roi Faineant Press, and Finishing Line Press. David received his BA in English and MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Texas, along with a graduate certificate in Women and Gender Studies.
His first collection of poetry and short fiction Indelible Fingerprints (Alien Buddha Press) was published in 2019, followed by his second and third poetry collections Blood Honey (Anxiety Press) and Cold Comfort House (Anxiety Press) in 2022, his fourth book little punctures (Really Serious Literature) in 2023, and his fifth Blind Turns in the Kitchen Sink (Anxiety Press) in late 2023. David has also written six poetry chapbooks, Punctures, PeripherieS, Eating Pears on the Rooftop, Golden Calves, Sour Grapes, and Blue with his seventh Brujeria scheduled for publication at Alien Buddha Press in May 2025. David's first co-authored novel Escaping Emily was released by Thirty West Publishing House in June 2024.
David has also won multiple screenwriting and scriptwriting awards for his projects "Roadkill" and "Brujo."
David is currently a writing professor at Central Texas College (Killeen, TX) and Austin Community College (Austin, TX).
